Exploring the Use of New Building Materials. The reNEWable Living Home looks at the evolution of building processes and the materials that support them.
Researchers from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid are collaborating with Universidad Católica San Pablo and Instituto Geológico, Minero y Metalúrgico (INGEMMET), both of them located at Arequipa (Peru), in a new project to develop construction materials from volcanic ashes. The project, entitled “Manufacturing, characterization and evaluation of geopolymers made from volcanic ashes for construction applications” is being financed by Peruvian Government through CONCYTEC.
